III. A. The Staff Assembly represents all non-faculty staff employed
in a regular-budgeted/grant-funded position of at least

IV. C .2) The Chancellor or his or her designee shall provide reports with the regular meetings of the Staff Assembly. The Chancellor shall meet with the staff membership at least once per year.

A motion passed to draw lots at the next meeting for 1- and 2- year terms this next year and that anyone preferring a one-year term of office should email Mary Lane.
A motion passed to have Mary Lane and John Weis continue to facilitate meetings until September when elections are held.
John Weis informed the Assembly of current issues of interest to staff which are under consideration by the University Retirement, Insurance, Benefits (RIB) Committee: 1) equalization of exempt and non-exempt vacation time; 2) creating a sick leave pool; 3) establishing an incentive program on sick time; 4) extension of benefits to domestic partners; 5) tuition exchange program with other universities, and 5) staff being able to take more than 6 tuition hours per semester.
Casual attire will be allowed June 7-August 13 and flextime allowed in some circumstances. These changes in policy were approved at this morning's Cabinet meeting.
